A New Addition at Marble City – Introducing Charles Harris

Charles HarrisMarble City Publishing is delighted to announce the addition of Charles Harris to our stable of authors. Charles has extensive credits as an international award-winning writer-director and his first novel – The Breaking of Liam Glass – will be published by Marble City in June 2017.

The Breaking of Liam Glass is a darkly gripping and constantly entertaining satire of today’s media.

Jason Worthington, frustrated journalist, desperate to sell his soul, if only someone will buy…

Andy Rockham, sleep-deprived detective constable whose one mistake could cost him his job, unless he finds someone to pin it on…

Jamila Hasan, loyal politician who will lose her seat at the coming election unless she discovers a principle to stand for…

…And Katrina Glass, single mother, whose only child went out to get cash and never came back…

Their stories weld together on a mixed-up, mixed-race Central London estate when white teenager Liam Glass is stabbed and left in a coma. And Jason is handed a once-in-a-lifetime ticket to tabloid heaven…

Not so much a Whodunnit as a blackly comic What-They-Did-After-It.

The Breaking of Liam Glass by Charles HarrisInternational award-winning film writer-director and best-selling non-fiction author Charles Harris hooks the reader from start to finish with this dazzlingly sharp and moving tapestry of modern life set at a time when phone-hacking was just a small cloud on the horizon.

If you liked Capital, Catch 22 and Bonfire of the Vanities you’ll love The Breaking of Liam Glass.

The Cold War Just Got Colder

Anti-Soviet Activities is the second Cold War thriller from Booker-nominated Jim Williams. A large helping of thrills for a special offer price of $0.99 / £0.99 / €0.99 on Amazon until September 7th.

Anti-Soviet Activities by Jim Williams

Some Amazon reviewers’ thoughts:

Heart Stopping, Gripping, Thrill ride of intrigue!! Won’t be able to put it down!

The Kirov novels are enthralling. Well written, perceptive characterizations, and revealing historical information.

“Exquisite writing”

“Real taste of Soviet Russia”

And the book description:

For Colonel Pyotr Andreevitch Kirov there is only one inescapable truth in modern Russia – if the old order does not change, it is impossible to bury the past.

When Kirov’s routine investigation into black market antibiotics is linked to the former head of the KGB – and Kirov himself is put under investigation by his own men – the course for collision is set.

As the old and new factions in the Soviet machine grapple for power, the stock in trade is the hardest currency known to the Socialist Republic … murder. Will Mikhail Gorbachev share the same fate?

Anti-Soviet Activities is the second of Jim Williams’s astonishingly prophetic novels about the decline and fall of the Soviet Union.

On offer at Amazon until 7th September.

Marble City Publishing steps up a gear

2014 was a busy year for Marble City Publishing with seven new releases in e-book and paperback format.

Twelve Curious Deaths in France was our first title from established novelist and Emmy-nominated screenwriter John Goldsmith. Keep an eye out for more books from John in 2015.

Our selection of titles from Booker-nominated Jim Williams was expanded with the addition of the two Pyotr Kirov spy thrillers Farewell to Russia and Anti-Soviet Activities, Jim’s first foray into science fiction with The Sadness of Angels, and two of his historical murder mysteries Recherché and The Strange Death of a Romantic.

Our 2014 anthology of short stories was Edge of Passion containing a mix of romantic suspense, mystery and thrills from Marble City authors and competition winners from multi-story.co.uk

We have started 2015 with an upgrade of our website to Bluehost using WordPress 4.1 so please let us know if you come across any problems.

Another new year means we will be having another free draw for some worth-having goodies. Join us for entry to the competition and grab a title of your choice as a welcome gift.
